Is your child currently diagnosed with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) or display symptoms of OCD?

Would you be interested in participating in a study examining treatment history of pediatric OCD in order to increase access to treatment?

The University of Florida Department of Psychology is conducting a study to examine the history of treatment of pediatric OCD. The purpose of this study is to discover general treatment history of pediatric OCD and variables that predict when treatment is sought from parents with children who are diagnosed with or display symptoms of OCD.  Secondary goals include examining the relationship between symptom severity, family accommodation, functional impairment, and time between problematic symptoms and seeking treatment. Research goals are to identify barriers to accessing effective treatments and areas to improve dissemination of treatment information for pediatric OCD. The primary goal is focused on helping patients overcome barriers to treatment and gain access to the most efficacious treatment methods available.

Information will be gathered on general treatment history (e.g., professional seen, treatment provided), child’s symptom severity and functional impairment by parent report.  Additional information regarding parental anxiety will also be collected.
