How pregnancy can trigger obsessive compulsive disorder in new mothers

Worries about the responsibilities of motherhood could trigger obsessive compulsive disorder, a leading UK expert has warned.

Pregnancy is a ‘potent trigger’, with around seven percent of mothers-to-be developing the anxiety-related disorder. Working out why some pregnant women develop it when others don’t could allow medics to screen for the condition and even prevent it in those most at risk.
