Compulsive behavior gene discovered in dogs
Researchers at Tufts University’s Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine pinpointed a location on the canine chromosome that could help identify dogs at higher risk for compulsive behavior disorder. This discovery is important for human research.
Edward Ginns, M.D., Ph.D., at the University of Massachusetts Medical School says the finding might lead to a better understanding of the biology of compulsive disorder and facilitate the use of genetic tests to screen for a propensity for obsessive compulsive disorder in humans.
